“Production, Production”

Yes, no time to waste , the group are fully engaged now with this “more gas than Lemonade” titled project, visually celebrating the workforce of GORTON TANK , occasionally they “come up for air!!” .

As you can see, plenty of brews, and chocolates handed out , to keep us all going.

We aim to make a lot of “flat caps” , some will be made of fabric and others hand knitted. The group have put their heads together for the knitted caps, to come up with a best way to tackle this difficult task.

And they are knitting away now, content, and confident !!!.

We have been busy mounting and preparing Artwork sent to us, created from the activities we sent out to up to 70 people during all the Pandemic Lockdowns, this continued for a 17 month period and helped some many isolated people remain active. An element of this was installed in Gorton Library this week, and more is being prepared to be exhibited at Longsight Library.

For the last 2 weeks we have opened the studio on a Wednesday to deliver a small project titled” a taste of this and a taste of that” . This is a trial idea to to offer people a diverse range of arts practice, and increase their skills and training . Artist Rebecca Davy “kicked it off” with a couple of still life painting workshop sessions, working very small on fridge magnets, and boy do they look good !!.

This project will continue for the next 2 weeks delivered by Artist Danusia Good.

The Project is funded by the OPEN Fund {Manchester City Council}.
